1. Scaling & Polishing
Scaling is a basic but nevertheless a very important part of dental care. It should be done on a regular basis; ideally it should be done once every six months.

Scaling removes calculus and hardened stains that normal brushing cannot remove. Plaque in our mouth becomes hardened due to the presence of calcium in the saliva. While plaque can be removed by normal, thorough brushing, hardened plaque or calculus can only be removed by Scaling. Scaling is also important in reducing bad breath as bad breath is usually caused by bacteria that are present in the plaque and calculus. If scaling is not done regularly, the bacteria can also cause infections and even loosening of one’s teeth through bone loss.
Scaling is performed using very efficient ultrasonic scalers. Once cleaned, the teeth surfaces are given a calming polish that gives your teeth the shiny finish.
Air-jet Polishing
Most stubborn stains can be removed using this technique which is a non-invasive method that
gives immediate results. This method is most effective in removing stains resulting from coffee,
tea and cigarette consumption.

In this technique which is carried out prior to the conventional scaling, a combination of water
and fine salt-crystals is passed through a high-pressure air pump into a special tip which is used
to remove the stains on your teeth.
The procedure is finished off with conventional scaling to removing any remaining calculus.
2 . FILLINGS
In Dentalpro, we only use composite or fluoridated glass ionomer filling instead of the mercury filled amalgam. Thus, the controversial mercury poisoning is eliminated.

3. DENTURES
When natural teeth are lost, a denture is made to replace the missing teeth in the function of masticatory (eating), speech and aesthetic appearances. Dentures will fit on the saddle (gums) and keep the tongue and check in the correct position. Therefore, the patient will look more presentable.

4. PREVENTIVE TREATMENTS
Topical fluoride and fissure sealant are treatments for preventive measures in oral health. Topical fluoride can be applied to patient with decays such as in rampant caries case to arrest the development decay.
Some posterior permanent tooth surface have prominent fissure (grooves) that may impact food in it. Therefore, as prevention, we can apply fissure sealant to seal the prominent grooves thus, avoiding caries formation.
5. SPORTS MOUTHGUARD
Sports mouth guard is constructed to protect the teeth and oral cavity from any injury in contact sports. There are two types of mouth guard, one is prefabricated by the manufacturer where the size is general and the other is custom made according individual mouth structure.
6. NIGHT GUARD
Bruxism or the (subconscious/unconscious) grinding of one’s teeth over time will result in shortening of the tooth and also hypersensitivity due to the exposed dentine. A night guard is crucial in order to prevent further attritions or loss of the tooth structure. At Dentalpro, custom made night guard can be made for effective and comfortable use.

7. WHITENING (BLEACHING)
This is a popular treatment to whiten stained or yellowish teeth for a more beautiful smile. Even teeth affected by tetracycline can be whitened to a degree.
A whitening treatment will usually take about one to one and a half hours. In this procedure bleaching agent is
activated by a light source from the blue spectrum or a cold light accelerator. These lights enhance the effect of the chemical used. The procedure is safe and effective.
THE CUTTING EDGE OF WHITENING TECHNOLOGY SYSTEM WILL SOLVE ALL THESE PROBLEMS.

SPECIALIZED DENTAL TREATMENT
Our dentists are all trained to perform cosmetic, restorative and corrective dental treatments. Cosmetic dentistry is gaining popularity with more and more men and women wanting to make aesthetic changes to their smile by focusing on having perfect teeth. Teeth that are stained, decayed, chipped or fractured can be restored with simple whitening, fillings or in more advanced cases crowns and veneers.
Restorative treatments very often combine the expertise from at least 2 specialized fields in dentistry to achieve the desired result. Restorative treatments not only remove the underlying problems but also restore functions and aesthetics of the affected teeth. Restorative treatments such as root canal treatment (RCT) provide alternatives to tooth extractions. Cosmetic treatments such as crowns, restores the functions of the treated tooth.
Orthodontic treatment, Oral and maxillofacial and orthognatic surgeries are some of the corrective treatments we offer.
1. PROSTHODONTIC
Crown & Bridge
An anterior tooth with multiple tooth-colored fillings look very unnatural and as years go by ‘stain’ will appear because at the margin of the fillings. A very large filling on a posterior tooth can easily fracture and in many cases, the tooth can also fracture. In both instances, it is advisable to crown the teeth. A crown is a porcelain “cap” shaped like a tooth which is fixed to the tooth in order to restore the tooth and have a natural and more aesthetic look.
A bridge is two or more crowns fused together and is a fixed prosthesis, unlike a denture. A missing tooth can be replaced with a bridge. The advantages of bridge as compared to denture are that the patient will feel more comfortable because the artificial teeth will only be put at the residual alveolar ridge and soldered to two crowns that act as retainers on either side. There will be no involvement of palate or tongue space as in dentures that can alter the patients’ speech or masticators functions.

Veneer
Veneers are thin ‘shell’ of porcelain which is fixed onto prepared teeth. A recommended solution for either malformed or severely discolored teeth, this treatment restores teeth functions and improves teeth appearance. The final effect is natural looking great set of teeth.
2. ENDODONTIC
Root Canal Treatment
RCT is done to save a tooth which decay has spread to the nerve. This treatment involves the removal of the infected nerve and sealing off the entire root system. This treatment is an alternative to an extraction; as the treated tooth can then be restored with a Crown.

Surgical Endodontic/Epicectomy
Surgical endodontic is carried out when normal endodontic treatment (root canal treatment) cannot be achieved. The root canal is plugged at the tip of the root to ensure the sterile condition in the root system. This is done by surgically exposing the tip of the root, then filling it up with filling material.
|
|
Gum flap is opened to exposed root tip |
Filling material is inserted at the root tip. |
3. ORTHODONTIC TREATMENTS (braces)
Straight teeth are synonymous with beautiful smiles. Correctly aligned teeth will also improve oral hygiene; less chance of cavities and tooth loss. Crooked teeth, abnormal occlusions and gaps can be corrected with a fixed appliance better known as braces. There are metal and ceramic braces used in this treatment.
Orthodontic treatments, regardless of its level of complexity are handled with great care. It may require many steps including mouth moulds, full facial/mouth X-rays and study models, and all these procedures are carried out in our centre. We use only the most modern techniques and materials to ensure minimum visibility of appliances and maximum effectiveness of each treatment.

4. ORAL SURGERIES
Wisdom teeth are usually impacted (buried) in the jaw bone due to insufficient space for its eruption. A normal extraction cannot be done to remove it; therefore a minor oral surgery (MOS) is needed. The procedure is done under local anesthetic by an oral surgeon specialist. Patient will be given medication pre and post treatment to minimize the discomforting conditions.

In most cases, wisdom tooth cause the gum around them to inflame and swollen. Wisdom teeth can also trap food debris between causing decays at the tooth in front of it, hence need to be removed.
Dental Implant
Thanks to dental implants, your lost permanent teeth can be replaced with a new set of permanent teeth. Implant techniques have been perfected to give you a new set of teeth that look and function just like permanent teeth.
Dental implant is the most retentive and stable form of restoration to replace a loss tooth. A dental implant is a small screw made of titanium, which is a metal that the body easily accepts. The dental implant is inserted into the
bone of the jaw, and over time the jawbone integrates with the implant surface, firmly anchoring it. Next, a crown, bridge, or denture is secured to the implant.

5. ORAL MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY
In layman terms, such surgery is for the purpose of reconstruction of upper jaws and lower jaws. It is a corrective surgery with the end result clearly visible on the patient’s facial structure. The facial appearance, oral ability and, mouth and teeth functionality can be greatly improved through these surgeries.

Bone & Soft Tissue Replacement
Bone replacement is minor surgical procedure to replace bone loss due to gum disease or extractions. For aesthetic reasons, the indented gum areas, naturally harvested bone combined with synthetic bone powder are filled into the bone loss area. This will make the gum look natural when a crown tooth has been placed.
Soft tissue replacement usually done to repair receding gums or to increase the gum after bone replacement.
 |
 |
|
| Step #1 - Diagnosis of a tooth requiring extraction |
Step #2 - Extraction of the tooth using a gentle surgical technique
|
Step #3 - Placement of the canal bone graft material in the extraction socket.
|
|
|
|
Step #4 - Placement of the resorbable collagen dressing in densely packed layers over the canal bone graft and suturing.
|
Step #5 - Temporary restoration to replace missing tooth and specially shaped to help support healing of the gum tissue.
|
Step #6 - Final prosthetic result with fixed bridgework and preserved surrounding bone and gum tissue.
|
6. ORTHOGNATIC SURGERY
In simple terms, Orthognathic treatment requires the combined expertise of a general dentist, an orthodontist and an oral maxillofacial surgeon. The surgery is to correct upper or lower jaws that are too big, too small, too forward and set too far back, resulting in overbite, under-bite, an open bite and excess upper gums.

The combined expertise is required to achieve optimum results with regard to both the functions and aesthetics of the mouth and teeth.
7. PERIODONTIC
Gum Disease
Periodontal (gum) diseases, including gingivitis and periodontitis, are serious infections that, left untreated, can lead to tooth loss. The word periodontal literally means "around the tooth." Periodontal disease is a chronic bacterial infection that affects the gums and bone supporting the teeth.
Periodontal disease can affect one tooth or many teeth. It begins when the bacteria in plaque (the sticky, colorless film that constantly forms on your teeth) causes the gums to become inflamed.

8. PAEDODONTIC (CHILD DENTAL CARE)
Peadodontics is the provision of dentistry for children. Children have special dental healthcare needs, as they produce two set s of teeth and hence have more teeth to care than adults. Good brushing and dental care habits should be firmly established from an early age. Self brushing should be encouraged, but supervision is needed for many years.
Dentalpro believes that children should be introduced to the dentist at an early age to prevent the development of fear from a dentist and to allow early detection of any dental condition in a child. We recommend regular visits to the dentist for a child from the age of 2 ½ years.
